Game 6, 1974-75 Cup Finals Replay with H. Bones

Game 6, Hockey Bones

PHI 0-1-1=2 BUF 3-0-2=5

The Stanley Cup was in the house for this game 6 replay with Hockey Bones. Parent and Desjardins were the starting goalies. It was a penalty filled first period early on with the Flyers going 0-4 and the Sabres going 0-3 with the man advantage in the first. The Flyers also won a vast majority of the faceoffs, but found themselves in a 3-0 hole after 20 minutes.

Ramsay scored 4:48 into the game while the teams were skating 4 on 4, as the Sabres had scored first in every game of the series. Peter McNab would then score two goals just 1:51 apart as the 3rd and 4th lines were producing again for Buffalo. Shots were 12-10 Sabres after one with the Flyers not getting any shots in range, while the Sabres had six on Parent. --

The Sabres outshot the Flyers again in the 2nd, 13-6, but after going 0-3 on the PP, Clement would beat Desjardins with only 33 seconds left, and the Flyers now had a fighting chance in the third only trailing 3-1. --

Leach cashed in 3:12 into the 3rd and Philadelphia had cut a 3-0 lead to 3-2. The Flyers fired 13 shots on Desjardins with 5 being in range, but could not muster the tying goal. 3rd line defenseman Bill Hajt scored the game clinching goal with 1:52 left as his shot from the point beat Parent for a 4-2 Buffalo lead. It was the only in range shot of the period for the Sabres. Rick Martin found the open net with 6 seconds left and it was time to celebrate in western New York. --

Philly was 0-7 on the PP and Buffalo was 0-5. PHI shots 10-6-12=29, BUF shots 12-13-12-37. Parent made 33 saves on 37 shots. Desjardins made 27 saves on 29 shots. Philly had 8 shots in range and Buffalo 9.

After falling behind 2 games to none, the Sabres ripped off 4 wins in a row to win the Cup in this replay. I hope you enjoyed following along.
