Game 3, Hockey Bones

The scene shifted to Buffalo for game 3. Stephenson and Crozier would be in net again. For the 3rd straight game Buffalo scored first when 3rd liner Jim Lorentz scored just 6 minutes in. Barber would tie it for Philly, but the 4th line scored for the home team as center Peter McNabb would put the Sabres back on top 2-1.
The Buffalo 3rd and 4th lines were tremendous in this game. The Sabres outshot the Flyers 20-4 in that first period as the undisciplined visitors took 5 minor penalties in the first 20 minutes.
The Flyers penalty killers kept the game as close as they could, with Buffalo going 0-8 on the PP.
Danny Gare had the only goal of the 2nd, as Buffalo led 3-1 and were outshooting Philadelphia 34-13 after two.
The third line struck again for the home team in the third, when Stanfield scored for a big 4-1 lead. A late goal by MacLeish cut it to 4-2, but Luce scored into the empty net for the 5-2 final.
Philly was 0-1 on the PP and the Sabres 0-8. PHI shots 4-9-7=20 BUF shots 20-14-12=46. Stephenson made 42 saves on 46 shots. Crozier made 18 saves on 20 shots.
It's now a 2-1 series lead for the Flyers.
