The Sabres again ran out to the early lead when Robert scored the only goal of the first on Stephenson, who was in for Parent who got injured in game one and was given the night off. Stephenson was awesome stopping 18 of 19 first period shots by the visitors.
In the 2nd Leach tied it, getting the Flyers first line their first goal of the series, but 3rd liner Fred Stanfield responded 2 minutes later to put Buffalo back up 2-1. The visitors were outshooting the Flyers 31-20 at this point.
The 3rd period was all Flyers. They peppered Roger Crozier with 13 shots, while holding Buffalo to just 7. Barber tied the game with 12:11 to play, and then 3rd line defenseman Tom Bladon scoring with 8:25 left for the game winner.
Sabres were 1-3 on the PP and the Flyers 0-3. BUF shots 19-12-7=38 PHI shots 8-12-13= 33. Crozier made 30 saves on 33 shots. Stephenson made 36 saves on 38 shots.
The Flyers take a 2-0 lead into game 3 at The Aud in Buffalo.
